Hi. My name is Scott, I am 53 years old. This past summer I was in the hospital for a month and I was diagnosed with this Brutal disease, UC. I was in the Best shape of my entire life before this, and eating the healthiest lifestyle possible.. It has been six months and I am still in rough shape. I'm on prednisone, Sulfasalisine, and I've had 4 infusions of Remecade that started in the hospital because after a month nothing else was working. This has been a brutal battle and is to say the least very trying at the Best of times!! If there is anyone who has been recently diagnosed and would like to chat I would welcome that immediately... I am Neeraj, the penner of this UC blog. UC has been with me since 1998, a very faithful partner indeed. In fact, much faithful than humans. I have also been in flared state since Dec 2015 - continuosly on steroids (wyslone). Remission not happening. Medicine induced catract in both eyes. Bone density depleted. Most of the eating tools have undergone RCT. Lumbar n cervical issues. Insomnia et al. Sounds scary. All this is true but not scary. You need to approach the situation with a Highly Positive Attitude. Mental get up makes a vital difference. Medicines are all about managing UC as the medical fraternity still grapples in dark about the causes of UC. 53 is a young age. Get up and dance .....enjoy. Take the treatment, whatever available, in your stride. The cure lies within. Have faith in yourself. Have faith in nature. And above all Have Faith in the Allmighty. Be positive. Things will definitely improve.
